On behalf of IUFosT, it is a great privilege for us to host one of the most prestigious events of Food Science and Technology in the world, The "16th World Congress of Food Science and Technology " of IUFoST, will be held for the first time in Latin America at “Foz do Iguaçu” (Iguazu Falls), Parana State, Brazil, August 5-9, 2012.

The event aims to provide opportunities for international cooperation, information exchange and discussion among food scientists and technologists around the world. The scientific program is strong and comprehensive, covering key issues in the field of Food Science and Technology.

Located in the extreme west of Parana State, “Foz do Iguaçu” is the most developed tourist and economic center of western Parana and it is one of the most important Brazilian tourist destination. The stunning Iguazu Falls is among the seven wonders of nature. It has 275 cascades spanning over four kilometers, amidst lush vegetation.

The venue is spacious and modern, with ample space for sessions and meetings in an atmosphere of natural beauty. Rafain Palace Hotel is surrounded by other lodgings, ranging from affordable to luxurious hotels, providing comfort and pleasure.

We are now ready to receive abstracts of your original, high-quality and innovative research, to be featured as oral or poster presentations.

We look forward to welcoming you all at Foz do Iguaçu for the IUFoST Congress in August 2012.

Food Factory 2012

The 6th International Conference on the Food Factory for the Future, will be held in Laval (France) from July 4th to 6th.

Innovative food processing for hygienic and sustainable food production is the theme of Food Factory 2012. The choice of theme emphasises important challenges that the food sector will meet in the future to satisfy consumer preference, acceptance and needs. The conference will focus on four themes:

1. Process design:
From equipment to cleaning and decontamination techniques,
2. Microbial and chemical food safety:
From biofilms to food contact materials,
3. Minimal processing:
From optimization of conventional methods to innovative soft technologies,
4. Smart process control and automation:
From sensors to robotic solutions.

Food Factory 2012 will be an opportunity to share and transfer knowledge amongst food industry and the scientific community, as well as to take part in an active and creative forum for development of new ideas and potential innovations.

Researchers from academic and industrial research centres are invited to submit their communication proposal before January 16th 2012.

More Information at the conference website: www.food-factory.fr.

Food Factory 2012 is organised by LMT (Laval Mayenne Technopole) in collaboration with the SIK (Swedish Institute for food and biotechnology) with the support of EHEDG.
