Within the framework of the on-going “Two Diplomas” (2D!) Project carried out jointly by our University and the University of Occupational Safety Management, Katowice (WSZOP), the prescheduled earlier meeting of the Project organizers took place, October 21

The WSZOP delegation headed by the Faculty of Technical Sciences Vice-Dean Jacek Pagewa and the Assistant Chancellor Claudia Tyrala and the Director of the “SOWARD INTERNATIONAL GROUP” Yuriy Maslak on board visited NUFT in order to discuss the operational results of the Polish language School 2015, which was organized specifically for our students. A number of adjacent questions were also scheduled to talk over.

Among those were: extension of the MSC Programs, which could be offered to the Ukrainian students, particularly to those of the Faculties of Engineering Mechanics and Packaging Equipment, Power Engineering and Energy Management, Automation and Computer Systems. In addition to the above mentioned issues, a significant attention was paid to the optimization of the student’s enrolment to the MSC Programs, visa support, accommodation etc. The parties of the meeting have marked new specialties that taught at NUFT which would be later encompassed with the 2D! Program. Now the Project 2D! involves predominantly our MSC students majoring in the following specialties: Management of Organizations and Administrations, Tourism, Touristic Management, International Management. This means that the students involved in the 2D! Program will be granted Ukrainian State Master Diplomas and the Certificate of the European Educational Institution of the highest accreditation level.

Technical Science Faculty Vice-Dean Dr. Jacek Pagewa during the meeting pointed out that the WSZOP highly qualified stuff will do its best to design and license the MSC courses with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland in the nearest future. He assured the Ukrainian partners that this task could be easily implemented on the basis of 31 technical laboratories operating at the WSZOP. In the particular, the parties reached an agreement to establish the MSC Programs in the field of Energy Management, Thermal Generation Ecology, Management and Handling of Freon Refrigeration Equipment. It is quite clear, that such programs will present a great interest for our students – future power engineering specialists.

The NUFT Vice-Rector for International Relations and Integration Yaroslav Zasiadko received the guests. During the meeting a set of issues presenting a mutual interest was discussed in details. The Polish delegation also met a group of our MSC students of different specialties. During this meeting our guests presented 2D! program, which is already in operation. During the presentation our guests answered a number of questions related to every detail of the Project, these of accommodation, cultural and social life in Poland and many others. The Deans of the Faculties of Engineering Mechanics and Packaging Equipment, Power Engineering and Energy Management, Automation and Computer Systems, Economics and Business Management were present during the meeting.

The presentation given by our guests touched every side of the WSZOP scientific and educational activity.

It is worth mentioning that the group of our students has already visited WSZOP at the end of September. The students of the Hotel-Restaurant and Tourism Business, Economics and Business Management,Power Engineering and Energy Management took a 2 week course of Polish language and successfully graduated it. Eight our post-graduates enrolled at the 2D! Project 2015.

We hope that the 2D! Project will keep advancing and arm our graduates with the effective means to become successful at the European labor market.
